Fly fishing is one of Breckenridge’s great attractions, but it doesn’t get as much attention as the snow sports. Just because Colorado’s slopes get all the press doesn’t mean its lakes, ponds, rivers and streams aren’t worth a look. Fly fishing with Breckenridge Outfitters can be a great choice for your vacation in the Rockies.
One of the most decorated Orvis endorsed outfitters around, Breckenridge Outfitters offers year round fly fishing adventures with guides, as well as a full service fly shop located right in Breckenridge, CO. They offer the best and most up to date equipment, employ knowledgeable staff who’ve all attended the Orvis Endorsement School, and are up to date on the latest techniques. That means you’ll have a great time, and get a lot out of your trip.
The pro shop is fully stocked, and has everything you’ll need for fly tying and angling. There’s also a lot of other outdoor equipment, plus clothes and gifts to take back home. Whether you’re a beginner, or a pro with a lot of experience, you’ll get the best that Breckenridge has to offer. You’ll learn a lot, even if you don’t know much about fly fishing, and you’ll definitely enjoy your trip.
All fishing trips include full equipment use, including waders and boots and rod and reel, plus transportation and a knowledgeable guide. However, flies, tips for your guide, and your Colorado State fishing license aren’t included. You’ll need to plan for those in advance.
There are several trips to choose from, starting with a short two hour trip that’s great for beginners, and extending to the two day, one night overnight float trip. The two hour trip heads to a river right in town, gives a full casting lesson, and then lets you try out your new skills to catch your first fish. For a half day of fishing on one of the local rivers (Arkansas, Eagle, Colorado, Blue, or South Platte), try the four hour option.
You can also try a full day trip, and fish multiple different rivers. Your guide will analyze your skills and what you want and choose the best waters to fish. A full lunch is included. Add a rod fee to fish at a reserved private ranch that you and your party have totally to yourselves. There are all kinds of waters out there, from the big, fast moving rivers to ponds and lakes that yield up big trophy trout, so you’ll be sure to have a great time.
A full day float trip takes you on the Colorado River to fish moving water, with a full riverside lunch in the middle of the day. If you want even more great fishing, try the overnight float trip, for two days of float and wade fishing with one night of camping by the river. A fireside surf and turf dinner, a hot breakfast, and lunch both days are included, with your experienced guide doing the cooking. All camping equipment is included, and you can choose cabins for a little extra.
